Anchor: Kim Gennaula Dateline: January 3, 2003 - Kim Gennaula is a News Anchor for KGMB-TV. She anchors the 5:00 and 10:00 newscasts each weeknight. She has been with KGMB since 1993 and during that time also served as weeknight Weather Anchor. In addition to hosting feature programs like "Eye On People" and the "Pacific Garden Show", Kim has also produced more than a dozen special documentaries - mostly focusing on cultural issues important to the Hawaiian people. She was invited aboard the Polynesian voyaging canoes to document their trips to the South Pacific and Alaska. She also documented the clean-up of the island of Kahoolawe after years of military bombing. Kim was given the prestigious 'Na Manu A Ka'ae Award for her outstanding contributions to perpetuate and promote the Hawaiian language and, the "Keep It Hawaii" Award by the Hawaii Visitors Bureau for her coverage of local culture. Kim has won an Emmy for Cultural Affairs Reporting, Society of Professional Journalists awards for Feature Reporting. And, was named Hawaii's Favorite Female T.V. personality in a local radio poll. She donates most of her free time to speaking engagements for local charities. Kim graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Journalism and also has five years experience as a News Reporter in Texas and Florida.
